Chicago!

Today, Laura, Nikki, Alayna, and I went Downtown Chicago! We took the train down and had a blast :-)! It was so great seeing Nikki again! ( Laura and I go to the same church, so I've seen here since camp! ) We had so much fun. We went to the Sky Deck, Bean, and a bunch of other neat places! A lot of walking, so my feet a so sore now, but it was so much fun! We took tons and I mean TONS of pictures, but I'm only going to post a few :-)! Enjoy!

Drinking out of this would be crazy! And this giant mug cost $60!

Alayna visiting

It has been such a great weekend! My friend from camp, Alayna, was able to come and stay with us for this weekend. We have had such a blast so far, and I'm sure I will make another post of our weekend adventures after we get more pictures ;-)! But tonight we did the "BeanBoozeled Challenge." BeanBoozeled are jelly beans that look like one flavor, but may be another, disgusting flavor. We had a lot of fun, but it was totally GROSS! Here are some pictures:

We went for a walk and came to the spring.

Was really beautiful!

Alayna and I at the spring.

Spitting out a disgusting bean.

We were brave! I'm telling you! It takes bravery!

Alayna getting ready to eat a whole handful...yes a HANDFUL of disgusting beans!

Somehow they got me to do it too...

After doing the challenge, this is what we thought of it.

Here are the flavors...

Week Ten!

Well, I'm home after an amazing summer. Its hard to believe its already over! This year it really flew by!!! The last week of camp was a lot of fun, and a great way to end the summer :-)! I was able to be Dining Hall Hostess for the last week of camp. I really enjoyed being able to do that! I was a bit more work then usual, but a lot of fun. On Monday we had to move from the cabins we lived in all summer over into the lodge, in a room campers would usually stay in but the counselor was not counseling that week. It was a lot of fun to all live together in the same room for a week. The weekend was also a lot of fun. We had staff skit time, watched a part of the summer-in-review that was done, gave testimonies, heard a challenge from Mr. Scott, enjoyed fellowship with ice cream, cookies, and crackers, then we went and played volleyball. Sunday after church
( Nikki and I sang a duet for church ) we went to Culver's for ice cream. It was a blast! I've not to much to say, but I do have a lot of pictures to show :-)!

We all borrowed some of Miss Jenna's colorful socks, because our feet were cold.

Miss Rachel and Miss Hannah's skit.

This was the Knight and the King Skit.

As Hostess I had to keep up on the Coffee Nook.

And get the Dining Hall ready for meals.

Homemade Pizzas!

I think I added to much soap...

Nikki and I got our hairnets stuck.

Then they pulled her hairnet over my face...

Nikki sliding a box down into the basement.

Miss Jenna and Sara taking the can opener off.

Sara had to go underneath the counter to help get it off.

Our room, 203, after it was cleaned and we moved out.

We took the tape off Miss Jenna's floor and wrapped her up in it.

At first I thought this was a decoration...

But I made the coffee into grounds in this machine.

Team Grace!

I was so excited when we went into town and I saw Twinkies!

Even Nikki started to wear goggles to cut onions by the end of the summer.

We were able to go out to the bog and try it out!

This was new for this summer, the Giant Swing.

Angie made a big mess!

It was so weird to watch the tree fall! Yes, they did cut it down.

We wrapped Miss Jenna's bed up ( this time lacking balloons. )

Amy, Alayna, and I all matched!

Mya also matched us :-)!

Flight for Life!

It was really neat to watch!

Setting up for the banquet Friday night!

Loved the center piece!

Saturday we put the verticals over the bathroom door to trap Miss Jenna inside.

However she did get out...

We also pushed her into the lake Saturday morning :-)!
Saying goodbyes and the end of the summer is always a very difficult thing to do. I miss all my amazing friends I made at camp! I hope to see all of you soon :-)! Also, I hope to keep up on this blog. It won't be weekly, as it has been, but every now and then I would like to update you on different ministry experiences I get involved in, or other random things I do :-)! Lord willing, I will keep this blog running through next summer, my 3rd summer working at Camp Joy!
