Well another week has flown by, and it
is hard to believe we are coming up on our final Teen Camp this
coming week. This past week has been Junior Camp 2/Primary Camp 1!
The juniors are so much fun to be around :-)! I was able to assist a
couple counselors by watching their cabins for them when they had
previous engagements. It was so much fun, and good experience for
when I will ( Lord willing ) be a counselor one of these summers. It
was also great seeing a few girls from back at home. Two of these
girls attend my home church, while the other plays in our home school
Fine Arts Band. I hope that all three of them had a blast this past
week :-)! This week has probably been the hottest week of the whole
summer, especially in the kitchen! But the Lord brought us through
the week, and I am enjoying the cooler weather this weekend ;-)! This
coming week is Teen Camp 3, as said before our final teen camp. I am
excited to see how the Lord will work this week! Not only is it Teen
Camp, but is also Piano Camp. Be in prayer for both these camps, that
if any come unsaved this would be the week of their salvation. Also,
be in prayer for the staff. Many of the counselors and other staff
members are tired and wearing out. The thing we all have to keep in
mind is that the campers who are coming in, this is their first and
probably only week for the summer of 2013. Though we have gone
through about eight weeks now, this is there first, and we need to
make their first week just as special as our first week here, just as
exciting, just as new. Even though we've heard the jokes of fun time
many times, and we've seen the drama acted out before, the special
music is nothing new, its the same as it has been all summer...but we
need to let the Lord continue to use it in our lives. The same goes
for all Christians! Just because we read the same chapter in the
Scriptures over and over, it should never become old to us, or become
habitual to us. God can use something in our lives no matter how many
times we have heard, or read it. We just need to keep an open heart
and mind and let Him direct and show us exactly what He has for us!
Its been a sad time here at camp too. One of our kitchen girls who
worked with us for a month, Maria, has gone home. Also, a few of our
operational staff guys have also gone home for the summer too. This
is probably the worst part about the summer, saying goodbye. We've
even started signing T-Shirts. Next weekend we will be watching the
Summer-In-Review. Its hard to believe that the summer is already
over! It still feels as if we have just gotten started!!! Lord
willing, I would love to come and serve the Lord at Camp Joy again,
in the Summer of 2014! Alrighty, well here are the pictures from this
past week of camp!
